Animoto is a tool used for simply creating videos with a professional appearance. In order to create my video, I first created an account, then I selected a theme to be used as the background for the video. Next, I selected a tab for new content, then picture content, or text content, whichever I wanted that specific slide to contain. Following the completion of the visual, I selected the background music for the video.
The video that I created is a digital representation of the teaching metaphor that I came up with for my Educational Psychology course. This fits into Component 3C of the Danielson Framework as it can be used to create materials such as lecture supplements and anticipatory sets to get students engaged in the lesson. |
Animoto offers many different options for themes and background music, and most of the process for video creation was self-explanatory. Animoto is simple to use to come up with a professional result.

This ties into Educational Psychology and Foundations of Teaching material, as it is used to communicate effectively with many types of students. It can also be used for different segments of the lesson plan, which was taught in both of those courses.
In my future classroom, I could use this tool to develop an anticipatory set, or as a supplement to material with which students are struggling. I could also develop a video itinerary for the week, month or year so that students know what to expect in the course.
