Wizer is a website that allows teachers to create worksheets online, so that students can easily access them, without worrying about losing them. It also allows the teacher to add many types of information, as well as question types so that students can remain engaged in what they are working on.
In order to create this quiz, I got an account, selected the option to create a worksheet, clicked the option for whichever question I wanted to include, and wrote the question.
In order to give the students access to this material, I would simply sent them the above link to follow. They would then follow that, and fill out the assessment. At that point, I should get results to my worksheet in the home section of my Wizer account. Once I receive this information, I would be able to tailor the next several lessons to more accurately fit the students' needs.
This fits into Component 3D of the Danielson Framework because it satisfies the the third element, emphasizing the monitoring of student learning. With this tool, the teacher has access to what the students are capable of achieving at the time that the assessment is given.
Using this tool, I really appreciated the different types of questions that were available, and how easy it was to use these. All tools were labeled clearly and in a logical place so that they were easy to find and identify. The program was difficult to use as it does not have a feature to automatically save progress while the user is creating the worksheet. Also, the site has not been perfected, as occasionally the links do not work correctly, and some questions may be deleted randomly, even after they have been saved.
This program was still very useful, despite its flaws. In my future classroom, I believe that I will be able to use it to design homework assignments, and classroom activities that are more exciting to complete than traditional paper worksheets and homework assignments.
This site fits into the material from Educational Psychology, as it will allow teachers to reach different students at the times and places in which they learn most effectively. The students would be able to complete the worksheet at any time, and turn it in, with the teacher able to give immediate feedback. This could even be an improvement in the classroom, as the teacher could check all of the students' work from the same spot in the classroom, and not be forced to rush over everyone's work, giving it only minimal time and attention.
