establishing a culture
for learning
What is component 2b?
When a teacher is able to cultivate a culture of life long learning for students and teachers in the classrooms, all involved are more motivated, and willing to give all they have to an issue.
Why is component 2b important?
Component 2b is important because the teachers and students need to work together to create this optimal environment. The environment of the classroom must also display the effort that all involved put into their work. Students must take pride in their work, and work their hardest and value the work to be able to learn the best.
What are the elements of component 2b?
The first element of component 2b outlines the importance of content and learning. This component emphasizes that the students are active in their learning experience, and excited in the topic. The teacher then in turn takes advantage of that, and plays off of the students interest, being sure to pull the lesson to a conclusion that enhances the content.
The second element of component 2b emphasizes the need to maintain high expectations for learning and achievement. The teacher must ensure that the students understand that they are capable of achieving greatness, and the students must take this knowledge, and grow in their learning from hearing it.
The third element of component 2b mentions the importance of student pride in the work. The students must take the time with their work to complete all of it correctly, including the smaller details, and be willing to revise the work until the final product fits high standards that the students set for themselves.
What are some artifacts displaying component 2b?
Some possible artifacts displaying this component would include displays of excellent student work around the room as inspiration, the learning and growing attitude of the teacher, and the attention and excitement of the students.
